Karnataka: Shivkumar’s supporters took to the streets after his arrest, vandalism in buses

In protest against the arrest of senior Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar, the Congress has announced a shutdown in the entire state today. DK Shivakumar, arrested in money laundering case, is to appear in Delhi court today. Earlier, Congress workers vandalized and arson on Tuesday night to protest the arrest of DK Shivakumar in the money laundering case. The demonstrators broke the glass of several buses. Here, DC of Ramnagar has declared a holiday in all government and private school-colleges. Some protesters have been arrested.

Protesters targeted the Karnataka state transport buses in protest against the arrest of the Congress leader. There was an attempt to burn the bus at Harohalli depot. Three bus seats were burnt in this bus. A total of 10 buses of glass were broken around the Ramnagar division. The protesters protested the arrest of the 7-time MLA and former Energy and Water Resources Minister.

School-college closed in Ramnagar

DC of Ramnagar has declared a holiday in all government and private school-colleges. Some protesters have been arrested. Attempts are being made to somehow avoid the untoward. Karnataka police personnel are deployed everywhere. Shivakumar’s supporters are demonstrating on the Bengaluru-Mysore road. It is anticipated that the protests may escalate and the Bangalore-Mysore route is likely to be completely blocked.

Congress leaders support Shivkumar

Karnataka Congress President Dinesh Gundu Rao came out in support of Sivakumar and called the arrest a political vendetta. He tweeted from his official Twitter handle, ‘With the intention of defaming, blackmailing and bullying, the Modi government has started attacking his opponents politically. We stand with DK Shivakumar and will fight the BJP’s Hitler Raj with all his might. we will not give up.’ Gundu asked all the district units to perform on Wednesday.
